Coin Story

This gilded silver coin with a flat edge is dedicated to the "World Heritage". Saint Peter, also know as Simon Peter, was a prominent early Christian leader, and one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, according to the new Testament. He is venerated as a Saint and traditionally considered to be the first Bishop and Pope by the Roman Catholic chruch, the easter Orthodox church, and the oriental Orthodoxy. The son of John (or Jonah), was from the village of Bethsaida in the province of Galilee. His brother Andrew was also an apostle.

Reverse Design

The reverse depicts the beautifully designed image of St. Peter in Glory. The coin is designed to match the original "St. Peter in Glory" image, located in the French Metropolitan Museum in Limoges. The the coin is very detailed, and the character and ornaments offset themselves, due to the gilding.

Obverse Design

The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The coin is packaged inside an elegant, lacquered wooden box. It is in a beautiful case, which is doing a great job in staging this remarkable coin. The Certificate of Authenticity is displayed on the inner packaging.
