Coin Story

These convex shaped silver proof coins are dedicated to the "Orthodox Shrines". Mother of God: In Orthodoxy, Catholicism, and other traditional churches revered as Mother, the Queen of Heaven. According to the Gospel it was a Jewish girl from Nazareth, betrothed to Joseph, who, being a virgin, conceived her first-born son Jesus miraculously, through the Holy Spirit. Saint Nicholas: Nicholas Ugodnik was a Christian Saint and archbishop of Myra in Lycia. Revered as a miracle worker, he is the patron saint of sailors, merchants and children. He is known for his prayers for the sailors and travelers. Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ, or Jesus of Nazareth, is the central figure of Christianity, which views him as the Messiah (foretold in the Old Testament), believed by the majority of Christian denominations - The Son of God, who was raised from the dead.

Reverse Design

The reverse designs depict the Mother of God, Jesus Christ and Saint Nicholas. The characters are designed to match the original icon and offset themselves against the reflecting silver proof background. The face and hands are coloured, while the rest of the icon is depicted in white or gold.

Obverse Design

The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.


The coins are packaged inside an elegant and rich wooden box. It is in a beautiful case, which is doing a great job in staging these remarkable coins. The Certificate of Authenticity is displayed on the inner packaging.
