Coin Story

This convex shaped silver proof coin is dedicated to the "Orthodox Shrines". Seven Arrows is one of the most holy images of the Mother of God is depicted without the devine infant. She bowes her head to the right shoulder and is pierced in the chest by seven arrows or swords, four of which are located on the left side, and three on the right. Such an image of our Lady is found in the icon "Softener of Evil Hearts" and "Simeon Prorechenie", in which only the swords are slightly different - three on the right an left, and one on the bottom. The Seven Arrows icon itself is at least 600 years old. For a long time, this holy image was on the first latter of the church bell in honor of St. John the devine (near Vologda).

Reverse Design

The reverse design depicts the Mother of God, pierced by Seven Arrows, or Swords. The character is designed to match the original icon and offsets itself against the reflecting silver proof background. Only the face and hands are colored, while the rest of the icon is engraved in the face of the coin.

Obverse Design

The obverse features the emblem of Republic of Fiji and is engraved with the specifications of '2 dollars' and the year '2013'.


The coin is packaged inside an elegant and rich wooden box. It is in a beautiful case, which is doing a great job in staging this remarkable coin. The Certificate of Authenticity is displayed on the inner packaging.
