Coin Story

William Shakespeare (baptised 26 April 1564; died 23 April 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s preeminent dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet and the “Bard of Avon”. His most famous tragedy besides „Hamlet“ is the story of Romeo and Juliet, about two families at enmity with each other and two lovers whos deaths finally reconcile their feuding families.

Reverse Design

The reverse captures the the 4 most important scenes of the love story: The street brawl between Montague and Capulet supporters, The balcony scene, Juliets visits Friar Lawrence and Romeo in the Capulet crypt. A silicium Nano-Chip is embedded on the reverse, featuring the entire text of William Shakespeares tragedy with 25,948 words.
