Coin Story

The ‘Portrait of a Young Man’ was painted probably in the first two decades of the 16th century by an Italian Renaissance artist, Raphael Santi. The painting was purchased in the early years of the 19th century by the Czartoryski family and became a part of their collections in the Czartoryski Museum in Cracow. It was the most valuable piece of art that was lost during the World War II.
