Coin Story

Pavè setting is a setting technique for small gem stones in which the stones are set so closely together that no metal shows. A pave surface appears to be paved with gem stones. The Sprinbok is a symbol for African coinage first to be minted on the famous Kruger Rand. In this case we have an outstanding issue of the République Gabonaise. It is the first time that the Springbok appears nearly three dimensional covered with Pavè Crystals. The coins are selectively Gold plated and depict the Springbok running in its natural habitat. This set is a perfect combination of an investment motif together with art of jewelry inside an introduced coin series presented in a high quality very innovative presentation packaging.

Reverse Design

This pure silver coin set is the first Pavé coin set which contains 5 coins. In addition there has never been a coin weight of one ounce in the Pavé series before. 5 ounces, 5 colors, 5 continents. Each color stands for a continent. The choice of the colors is orientated on the Olympic Games colors which exists since almost 100 years. More than half a million Czech crystals were needed to complete this amazing coin collection. For each coin a Jeweler has to work 1 ½ hours to insert all 104 crystals with the Pave technique. This means one Jeweler would have to work on the whole mintage for almost 7.500 hours. This is almost one year working without sleep or having a break.

The Olympic rings are well known all over the world. But there is also a meaning behind the colors of these rings. Each ring and each color stands for a continent.
Blue = Europe
Yellow = Asia
Black = Africa
Green = Australia
Red = America
These colors code is transferred to the Pave Springbok set. In addition the Allocation is fixed by a hologram seal on the bottom of the magnetic segment for each coin. This interesting fact is an argument for each Olympic Games fan.

Obverse Design

The obverse features the coat of arms of Gabon.

The packaging of this set is a sample for the new generation of coin presentation. Each coin is packed in a single segment which is able to stand up by a power magnet technology. All 5 segments together are fitting perfect into the piano lacquer box. The collector can decide which coin he wants to stand up or even all. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
