The Rabbit is the fourth sign in the Chinese calendar. The Year of the Rabbit, following the eventful year of the Tiger, is supposed to give peace. It is traditionally connected with home and family. It will be favorable to artists and diplomats. It is possible that new trends will appear in the art. The year 2011 will be a good time to relax and have fun.

Reverse Design

In the centre – an image of a pair of fairytale - like rabbits holding a red heart (glass insert), on the background - carrots, rabbit’s attribute. On the right side - a Chinese inscription meaning “Year of the Rabbit” and below - year 2011. Along the rim - an inscription: YEAR OF THE RABBIT.

Obverse Design

The central part of the coin depicts coat of arms of Niue Island, above it a semicircular inscription: ELIZABETH II NIUE ISLAND. Below it, a nominal value of the coin, 1 Dollar, and a year of issue, 2010. On the right, under the Head of the Queen Elizabeth II there is the Mint’s mark.
