Coin Story

Swordfish, also known as Broadbill in some countries, are large, highly migratory, predatory fish characterised by a long, flat bill. They are a popular sport fish of the billfish category, though elusive. Swordfish are elongated, round-bodied, and lose all teeth and scales by adulthood. These fish can live close to shore. They reach a maximum size of 14 ft 9 in (455 cm) and 1,400 lb (650 kg).

Reverse Design

This features a Pacific Swordfish swimming through the waters of the Pacific Ocean along with an engraved heading and the metal quality and weight of the coin.

Obverse Design

The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and denomination of Fiji $2.

The coin comes encapsulated in a striking cylindrical display case with a transparent lid filled with aquamarine liquid.
